Our part of the Palmisano family always enjoyed being in the company of “Joey the fig” and beautiful Mary. Listening to him tell a story always brought a smile.
The family luncheon won’t be the same without you.
Rest in peace my friend you’ve earned it!
Our sincere condolences

Words can't really express how we feel at the passing of our Joey! Gratitude is probably the best word to describe what a blessing he has been in our lives for 60 plus years! Joey and Mary may not be our blood relatives but we will always be family! Mary was Joey’s soulmate and together they have always brought such joy to everyone who knows them! Until we meet again Joey, Mary with the help of all your friends, will keep your memory alive!
We love and miss you Joey!

Mary and family.. Truly saddened to hear that
“Crazy Joe” has passed.. My son Michael shared with you the deeply felt memories of his and our entire family. Just the mention of his name brings smiles and happy laughter.
Joe held a special and unique place in the lives of “all
the MATTIA men”.
So very sorry for your loss..
I will be out of state on the day of Joe’s Memorial service, but I will think of him and you on that day.

Joe Palmisano was such a happy constant in the lives of a bunch of us Mattia men. With my grandfather being a barber and cutting my hair until I was about 13, Joe was the only other barber I ever had. My father, Al Mattia, started taking me and my brother Stephen to his salon off of Oak Tree Road when we were kids . Whether it was sneaking a peak at his magazines in our teens, getting us jewelry in our 20’s or buying hot sauce from him in our 30’s, “Crazy Joe the Barber” always made getting a haircut an adventure and a joy…talking about life and family all along the way. When my father got sick, Joe went to his Sea Bright condo to cut his hair and talk about all the fun times and funny stories of the past 4 or 5 decades.…. in between the tears of course. When Alfonse went into the hospital for his last stretch of time, Joe and Mary would go by and water the plants. My backyard, as well as the backyards of dozens of my friends and coworkers are full of fig trees that Joe originally gave us. Each time I pass a cutting along, I tell the story of the “ghost of Nunzio”…. a comical warning Joe would give me in honor of his own father. It was 40+ years of hundreds of “small life moments” with Joe. Yet it is precisely these little moments, moments that Joe was so good at creating, that make up a big, rich and beautiful life. From all the Mattia’s, I wish his wife Mary and the entire Palmisano family endless memories of Joe’s laughter and love . Thank you Joe for a lifetime of big stories and little moments. With Love…. Michael Mattia

To Mary
It would take a lot of time to write down all the memories we have had over the years. We laughed and just enjoyed the times we had together. I would get my hair cut almost every two weeks for years and from the moment I sat in the chair until I left the stories and laughing was non stop. It truly was the best of times.
Joey was full of life and he enjoyed every moment in everything he did. I saw him go through good and bad times and you would never know it because he always put his faith in God and he would say he'll take care of me, it's too much for me to think about.
Above all he was my friend and he will always be with me.
