I was very saddened to learn of Rose’s passing. Our friendship started over 40 years ago when my nephew, Steven, dated her daughter, Irene, and eventually married. Rose was always gracious and pleasant when we met. Being and outgoing person, she was very active in many different organizations. She was also a wonderful baker and I can remember enjoying so many of her delicious cakes. Although we didn’t see Rose when my sister and I moved to Florida 28 years ago, we kept in touch by phone and she always sent cards on our birthdays and other occasions. The last time we saw Rose was six years ago at her granddaughter Alaine’s wedding in New York. We were happy to see her and she looked lovely. I’ll always have pleasant memories of Rose and happy to have known her all these years.
