Rudy was always family. He was my dad’s best friend but he was family. I loved growing up with Robin and having her, Rudy and Aaron there for all of our special family moments. I remember when my goldfish died… Rudy came up with some crazy story to make me feel better. His smile was awesome and his laugh was contagious! He will always be remembered fondly ❤️

Q: What will you never forget about Ruthven?
A: I’ll never forget the time that Rudy (my Dad’s best friend) caught me from falling down an entire flight of stairs in our house…. He laughed and told me never to wear those big clunky slippers up and down the stairs again… and I never did! I loved when him and Robin and Aaron would come over back in the day… there were always so many laughs and I’ll never forget those memories and how happy it made my Dad to have a friend like him! RIP Rudy ❤️

Q: How did you meet Ruthven?
A: 49 yrs ago Rudy and I started the NYC Tramsit Police Academy in Brooklyn, NY it would be the start of a long and wonderful friendship that lasted all these years. We both experienced and shared life’s ups and downs together. I always enjoyed playing and enjoying music together. He was quite an accomplished saxophonist and we both had a very diverse musical interest. Rudy was the best man in our wedding and our young children used to play together and they to this day are still in contact with each other. I could go on and on about all the good times we had together but suffice it to say that Rudy left a positive mark on everyone he met! A truly good man that I am so sorry that I won’t be able to end a conversation as he always did “Peace and Love Bro”! One day we’ll play again together!
