I had the privilege of working with Betty Ann in Purchasing during the late 1980's/early 1990's @ Merck. She always had a smile on her face - she was a joy to know. I will be praying for the family, that our Lord Jesus will heal their broken hearts. Love you all. God be with you all and strengthen you. Elena (Catalbas) Kornas

The Class of '67 will forever miss your warm smile and personality. Memories of you just don't seem to be enough right at this moment. Your loss is too great. I know, however, that they will eventually comfort all of us who knew you. Thank you for mine which began at St. Joseph Elementary School. To Barry and the family---please accept my most heartfelt sympathy.

My dearest Isabelita,
You will be forever in my heart simply as Isabelita......and all the special times we shared at W. R. Grace, my very first "grown up Job" and to say the least, in Wall Street and that's where our memories start. I shared your "single days" and was lucky enough to be part of your wedding celebration. I met your family then and even when yellow brick road of our lives went in different directions, we always kept in touch and those yearly meetings in New York (along with Patty), over a delicious meal and a couple of drinks, allowed us to bring our lives up to date!
So, Isabelita, please know how much I will miss you, you were so much part of my unforgettable fancy free and fun days, as well as the darkest ones.......I send you to the Light with a smile and the most treasured memories of times now gone by. Until we meet again,
Lilia Nicoletti

One of my first memories of Betty Ann is sitting cross legged on her bathroom counter watching her "put on her face." :) My mom wasn't much of a makeup person so I was fascinated by all of Bet's blushes and eye shadows and lipsticks. She'd make silly faces at me and make me laugh while she was getting ready.
I also remember Betty Ann as the most fierce Scrabble opponent to my mom. Their games were the hallmark of every visit and they'd sit, dog-eared dictionary between them, racking up points, talking sh*t and bragging about high-scoring words from previous games. They'd let us kids pick their tiles and arrange them on the letter rack and write scores on the scraps of paper they kept in the Scrabble box (which I *think* still exists, after decades of games?)
Betty Ann + my mom also had a STRONG affinity for Barry Manilow (us kids would call him Barry Beak-alow, because of his nose, obviously!) We'd tease them endlessly about how much they loved him, but they could have cared less, belting out every song, prefaced by a, "ohhhhh, I LOVE THIS ONE", said in gleeful unison.
And of course, there is no memory of Bet that doesn't include Barry, Josh and Ryan. The Shutz's were our family, as much as any blood relative (and in some cases, preferred over certain blood relatives! I'm looking at you, Rose!) Whether holding individual craft paper signs to ring in the new year or blasting BB Gun pellets at a "We are the World" poster in the backyard or me marrying Ryan in the basement of our Nashua home, much of my childhood is defined by our visits every year. Josh and Ryan were the brothers we never had; the boys who would get Melissa and me into a mess of trouble and make us laugh harder than anyone else.
A noonie, and a chachi and joeeeee-ji. I love you all. Bet's joy and warmth lives in each of you, and will be with us always.
With deepest sympathy, Kelly

I am so saddened to learn of BettyAnn's passing. We were "cubicle buddies" at Merck and I honestly can't remember a day when she was ever in a bad mood. I also admired her relationships with her sisters. She made me laugh on so many occasions and I always think of her smiling. My deepest sympathy to the entire Shutz and Feeney families.

My family and Betty Ann’s family grew up across the street from each other on Daniel Street in Carteret. We had many great childhood memories together continuing through high school. I always looked up to Betty Ann as one of Patty’s older sisters and she was always so nice to us “younger” girls. As happens in life, we all went our separate ways, got married, and moved to different towns, but my sister Margaret and Patty have remained best friends so occasionally we would all get together to reminiscence about “the good old days” in Carteret. All my memories of Betty Ann were wonderful ones and I know she will be greatly missed by all that knew her. My heart breaks for Barry, Barbara, Patty and her family who will now have to go on without her. May they find comfort in the fact that they now have a special angel watching over them and that she is at peace. Please accept my deepest sympathy and friendship during this very sad time.
Love, Cathy (Dyciewski) Nase

I don’t know where to begin….Betty Ann has been part of our New Hampshire family for 50 years. She was a good friend of my sister’s, but after meeting she and Barry for the first time they were “family.” We loved it when came North to visit. I can’t even count all the wonderful memories we have of them both. They were at many of our big family celebrations, including my kids’ weddings. She will be greatly missed. While I am saddened she’s no longer with us, her place in heaven is secure. May God rest her beautiful soul. XOX

My condolences to Barry and the entire Shutz family. BettyAnn and I were friends and sorority sisters in Carteret High School. She was a very special person......we shared a lot of good times and lots of laughs. While life took our lives down very different paths and I saw BettyAnn only at our class reunion, the heart never forgets.
She will be dearly missed i'm sure, and I will miss just hearing about her travels from a mutual friend.
My heart goes out to Barry & their children.
Rest in peace BettyAnn....

We will always remember Betty Ann for her warmth and generosity, her sparkle and her smile, how she would liven up a room with her laugh, and most of all, for the happiness she gave her beloved husband Barry and her family, how she made the world a brighter place for everyone who knew her. Rest peacefully with the angels, Betty Ann. With love, Carol Straley and James Vidos
