Obituary of Vincent S. Romano

Vincent S. Romano passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at his home in Monroe Twp.  He was 92 years old.  Mr. Romano was born in New York City, NY and was raised in Brooklyn, NY.  He later resided in Bellmore, LI, NY for 30 years before moving to Greenbriar at Whittingham, Monroe Township in 1997.  Most recently, he lived in Monroe Village, Monroe Township  He was a 6th-grade elementary school teacher for the New York City Board of Education and rose to the position of Deputy Superintendent of Schools in Ozone Park, Queens, NY.  He retired in 1986.  He was a founding member and Past President of the Giovanni Caboto Lodge of the Order Sons of Italy in America, Bellmore, NY.  He and his wife, Nancy, enjoyed traveling the world and especially their visits to Italy.  He loved to write articles, plays, and poems, but most of all he loved his family.

He was pre-deceased by his brother, Anthony Romano.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Nancy (Licata) Romano of Monroe Twp., three children, Jerry Romano and his wife Catherine of Bellmore, NY, Susan DiMeglio and her husband Luigi of Robbinsville, and Thomas Romano and his wife Carol of Yardley, PA, one sister-in-law, Juanita Romano of Brooklyn, NY, seven grandchildren, Francesco DiMeglio and his wife Laura, Vincent DiMeglio and his wife Nicole, Christina Romano, Anthony DiMeglio and his wife Kelsey, Francesca Romano, TJ Romano, and Christopher Romano, eight great-grandchildren, Olivia, Charlotte, Luigi, Elizabeth, Madelyn, Siena, Kevin, and Emma, and many other extended family members.

A committal of Vincent's cremated remains will take place at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at the main chapel at Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, 840 Cranbury Rd. South Brunswick Twp., NJ 08810.
