Obituary of Ralph A. Guzio

Please share a memory of Ralph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Ralph Anthony Guzio passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday December 31, 2020.  He was 78 years old.  Ralph was born in Hackensack, the oldest child of Carmine and Rose Guzio.  He has a younger sister, Ellen and a younger brother, James (deceased).  He lived for a time in Pompton Lakes but grew up in Teaneck.  He loved playing baseball and bowling.  Ralph was married to his wife of 51 years, Patricia (Marshall).  They settled in Washington Twp. He was a food broker in the retail food business servicing accounts in NJ, NY, PA and CT.  When he semi-retired they lived in Pomona, NY.  He worked part time at Helen Hayes Rehabilitation Hospital in Nyack, NY.  Since family was the most important part of his life, Ralph retired to Monroe Twp. to live near his daughter Tammy and her family so he could enjoy seeing his beloved granddaughters, Emma and Sofia, grow up.  Ralph will be remembered for his kind heart and his pleasure in telling all his "life stories" to his whole family, always with a wonderful sense of humor.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (Marshall) Guzio of Monroe Twp., his daughter Tammy Calefato and her husband John and his beloved granddaughters, Emma and Sofia, all of North Brunswick.  He is also survived by his sister, Ellen Lardiere of Toms River and his sister and brother in law, Kathy and Greg Moritz of Bloomingburg, NY.  He was a very special uncle to his nieces, Lisa Spinney and her family, Dawn Linsky and her family and niece and goddaughter, Shannon Collings.

Visitation will be 10am-12pm on Thursday January 7, 2021 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  0883.  A catholic blessing will be 12pm at the conclusion of the visiting hours followed by entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum – South Brunswick.

In lieu of flowers and for those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – www.stjude.org.
