Frank Volpicella, 74, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2020 surrounded by his wife and sons. He was born, September 23, 1946, in East Orange, NJ the son of Leo and Mary (Celeste) Volpicella.

Following high school, Frank served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. Following, he joined the Florham Park Police Department in 1968 then went to South Brunswick Police Department and served for over 25 years between 1970 – 1994. During his time as a police officer, his focus was in the Traffic Safety Bureau, dealing with all areas of traffic investigation, enforcement, and supervision. After retirement, Frank went on to become an adjunct Faculty member with the Institute of Police Technology and Management (IPTM) out of Jacksonville, Florida and also Northwestern University Traffic Institute (later Northwestern University, Center for Public Safety) out of Evanston, IL. Again, serving his community and fellow officers for more than 30 years.

He continued to actively serve in the New Jersey Police Traffic Officers Association.  Frank’s knowledge became the cornerstone for the Crash Investigation curricula now being taught in New Jersey.  Frank's dedication to teaching others was his passion.  Countless police officers around the country are better crash investigators today, because they were taught by Frank Volpicella
