Obituary of Anna DeBlasio

Anna DeBlasio passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020, at her home in Englishtown. She was 101 years old. Anna was born and raised in Coaldale, PA.  She moved to Waterbury, CT. where she spent most of her life until moving to Englishtown in 2012. In addition to raising her four children as a homemaker, Anna worked for over twenty years at the Parish of St. Thomas in Thomaston, Ct. as a housekeeper.

Anna is pre-deceased by her husband, John Baptist DeBlasio, her son Allan DeBlasio, and her son in law, Laurence Mullen.

She is survived by two sons, J. Jeffery DeBlasio and his wife Barbara, Stephen DeBlasio and his wife Paula, as well as one daughter, Sandra Mullen, and a daughter-in-law Patricia DeBlasio. Additionally her grandchildren,  Eileen Mullen, Michael Mullen, Jill DeBlasio, Jeffery DeBlasio, Eric Pope, Allison DeBlasio and Andrew D’Angelo, Catherine D’Angelo as well as three great grandchildren, Michael, Alexandra, and Jack.

Anna was very involved in church, being part of the Women’s Guild, and the Senior Citizen’s Club even serving as president of the club. In retirement she taught English as a second language classes to adults. When Anna was not volunteering she enjoyed gardening and raising flowers.  Anna was an avid UConn women’s basketball fan.  She enjoyed watching the games on TV and even attended some games in person including the final four in Tampa in 2008. She also loved to cook and spend time with her dog Johnny.

A funeral liturgy will be held Wednesday December 9, 2020 at 10:30 am at Immaculate Conception Church, on Manalapan Road in Spotswood, NJ 08884.  Interment will be in private under the direction of the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home Inc.
