My fondest memories are hating the Christmas book my Godmother, Aunt Ann, gave me when I was young and wanted a toy instead - then grew and oh, how I loved her for giving me that book! - Crying while I read this! - Remembering our laughter with her and my uncle and with the entire family always -- and then with Johnny her dog in her garden -- that dog barked at me constantly - she joked about it always - he knows what a bad person you are, she would say with a smile - and her birthday at my restaurant in NYC with the entire family - and just recently at her 100th birthday - What joy I had every time during the day when she re-remembered me -- when she would ask many times that day - Who are you again? - I am sorry I keep forgetting - and I would say I'm Vinny, Aunt Ann -- Phil's son --- then she would say with such happiness in her tone -- "Oh, Vinny!" - and I knew she was happy to see me and remembered good things about me! --- Loved being with everyone that day -- Oh how I love my DeBlasio cousins -- miss everyone so much and I am so sad that, due to this pandemic, we can not be there with you all to celebrate an angel's life - for truly how else can you describe Ann other than a kind giving spiritual soul - in other words an angel -- Aunt Ann I am so glad you are reunited with those that went to the hereafter before you - Uncle John and Allan - and looking forward to being with you all once again - My lovely Godmother - rest in peace - all our love -- Vinny & Steve

Grandma Ann was always lovely to be around. I have so many memories of baking with her, making Ukrainian Easter Eggs together, and playing outside while she tended her garden. In the summers I would spend time staying with her and Grandpa John and she would take me to Quassy with some of my second cousins, which was always a great annual trip. It has been a great joy to watch her get to know her great grandson, Jack Allan, whenever we could get to New Jersey to see her. She always lit up when she saw us and would have great fun looking at the fish or playing at the pool table with Jack. Grandma Ann will be deeply missed.

I have so many fond memories of time spent with Ann. She loved her children, grandchildren and her great grandchildren And she loved her UCONN Women's basketball team and was so thrilled when Allan took her to Tampa for the NCAA Women's Championship finals one year. She continued to follow them even in New Jersey. I will remember always about how happy she was at her 100 birthday celebration surrounded by family. She didn't really enjoy being the center of attention but there were always times we needed to do things like that for her. I hope she meets again with Allan.
Much Love Patti
