Obituary of Eric E. Lithen
ERIC EDWIN LITHEN, age 90, passed away August 28, 2020. Born in Bronx, NY, raised in New Hyde Park, NY, he was a graduate of Mineola High School (1948) and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (1952). He also earned a masters degree from Stevens Institute of Technology. He was an officer in the U.S. Merchant Marine and the U.S. Navy. He was a long-time member and past chairman of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joan (née Kirby), and sons Richard (Regina), Thomas (Mary Beth), and Philip (Loretta), and grandchildren, John, Peter, Andrew, Christopher, Mary Claire, Brian, and William.
Services are private and are being held under the direction of the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831.
