I first met Mr. and Mrs. Lithen in December 1972 just before Christmas. Their son Richard and I had just completed first semester freshman year of college and I had come over to the Lithens' house to pick up Richard to hit the town. I remember both Mr. and Mrs. Lithen as being very lively and high energy. They were always friendly, happy, vivacious and warm. It has been a long time since I last saw them. I was very sorry to learn of Mr. Lithen's passing earlier today.
