Jane was like another mother to me.I knew her all of my life. She was my mother’s best friend and like a sister to her since they were 12 years old. I have so many wonderful memories of her. But I think the memory that comes back most of my mind is when she would come into the bedroom I had in the house in Lanoka Harbor,Knock on the door And ask if she could put her Richard Simmons tape in the TV tape player and do her exercise. And sometimes I would stay and watch her. She used to love to do that.

My deepest condolences to Jane's beloved family. Jane and I became close friends working alongside each other at Brooklyn College. She was the funny, caring, no nonsense mainstay of the Dept. of Health and Nutrition Sciences, wielding more influence than a usual college assistant did, much to the chagrin of some high-minded professors who taught in the department. She was like an older sister to me, who always listened when I needed to talk about my somewhat turbulent life as a single mother to 2 adolescent kids. Just like an older sister she gave my teenage son a "what for" when he came to the office embarrassed because he had been caught playing hooky in Times Square! That's just one of the many affectionate memories I have of darling Jane. May you rest in peace, dear friend.
