Obituary of William J. Cary
Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William Joseph Cary, 78, went home to his heavenly father Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves his wife and soul mate of 56 years, Anna Marie Cary, one of God‘s true angels, perfect wife, mother, and grandmother, Ann Marie Conant; his daughter, William Cary; his son; Donna Cary; his daughter and his son Joseph Cary, 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, many adopted brothers, and countless amounts of friends that were family.
Bill was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY the son of Walter and Marjorie Cary and was a long-time resident of Monroe Township, NJ.
Bill served in the United States Marine Corps from 1957-1963. The Marine Corp took a tough kid from Brooklyn, NY who knew everything and shaped a man that was now disciplined, driven and would become an incredible leader in his civilian life. Bill credits the Marine Corp for saving his life although he had said many times when he stepped on the yellow footprints of Paris Island he thought he made the biggest mistake of his life. He loved being a Marine and he loved his country.
After proudly serving in the United States Marine Corp, Bill soon found he had a natural acumen for technology and would begin a career on Wall Street that spanned over 25 years. “Make it Happen” was his motto. Bill was proud of his career but that pales into comparison to the pride and love he had for his family and friends. Family first was his creed.
Bill was involved in the Monroe Township Booster Club, The Knights of Columbus, Immaculate Conception Church, Hope For The Warriors, Saint Jude, coached baseball and was a life coach to many. He put everyone first and never missed a single moment in his family’s life. “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff, Don’t Mistake My Kindness for Weakness, I Love You More” were some of his favorite words. He loved golfing and socializing at his golf club, Eagle Oaks. Bill was a man’s man who counted his wealth in hugs, kisses, and smiles.
