Dear Marian and family:

I was very sad today to hear of John's passing. He and I were high school classmates at Regis, and were in a band together. He recently connected with me on Facebook; since then we have had a number of telephone conversations, which I enjoyed very much. When I shared some music with him that I was writing and recording (new territory for me), he was kind and encouraging. I was surprised and pleased to find out he had been in the investment field; that has been my career now for over 20 years, so we shared some shop talk as well. I will miss John, but am glad we re-connected. I am very sorry for your loss.

May he Rest in Peace.

Dear Marian,
Please accept my deepest condolences. John lived 2 doors down from me on Schenectady Ave. He was always such a kind hearted sould. I always admired him. We used to talk sitting at the counter at Victor candy store on Ave D. He was the one that turned me on to eating bialeys. I have many found memores from back then of him. Sending prayers to you , Matt and to all his family. Sincerely Mike Roller

Dear Marian,
I am so sorry for your loss! Having been in that situation myself, I know the emotional toll that you are facing - getting used to all the "new normal" situations by yourself that in the past your shared with John as a family, missing the person you loved dearly, feeling so sorry that he will never see another beautiful day or participate in meaningful family milestones....
I know Matt will be your big support - my boys were there for me all the way, even as they faced their own loss of their dad, and it helped me tremendously. Please be brave and know that, although the horrible hurt will never leave 100%, it will lessen with the passage of time, and - yes- you will smile again one day.
Matt, I am so very sorry that you lost your dad at such a young age. Please be brave, too, and be the support that your mom needs to face the road ahead without her partner and soulmate.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you both all the time, love, Mira, Sean, and Kevin Stangl
