Obituary of Robert G. Volpe

Robert G. Volpe, 84, of West Windsor died on Sunday February 21, 2016 at RWJ University Hospital in New Brunswick. Robert was born in Brooklyn and lived in Long Island before moving to West Windsor in 1972. Robert received his Bachelors in Business Administration from St. John's University and his MBA from NYU. He worked for the NY Stock Exchange, DuPont, Glore Forgan & Co. and finally Merrill Lynch where he worked for 25 years until his retirement in 1999. He enjoyed following the stock market, reading about WWII history, watching professional boxing and New York Ranger games and spending time with his family. Robert was preceded in death by his son Kenneth Volpe. He is survived by two sons: Robert A. Volpe of West Windsor and Matthew Volpe of Holly Springs, NC, one daughter, Laura Dolan and her husband James of Princeton Junction, one sister, Lorraine Dashiell of Portsmouth, VA and five grandchildren: Kevin, Benjamin, Jack and Lexi Dolan and Broden Volpe. Visitation will be 2-4pm & 7-9pm on Sunday February 28, 2016 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 8:30am on Monday February 29, 2016 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 9:30 am at St. David the King Catholic Church – Princeton Junction followed by entombment in Cemetery of the Holy Rood Mausoleum – Westbury, NY.
