I worked with Jack at FHS for 7 years as a special education teacher. He was so easy to work with, cared about the students, and was a solidly good and generous man. He embodied the characteristics of a great teacher. Freeport was indeed blessed by Jack's talent and his ability to work closely with all students. RIP Jack. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. May your wonderful memories of times spent with Jack comfort you at this difficult time and into the future.

Jack Porzio was a man with a strong faith. He was always willing to share it with the people of Howard Beach. Both Jack and Dee were actively involved in St. Helen Parish. For years Jack was an instructor in the RCIA program. The community has missed them since they moved to New Jersey. He is well remembered here and there is a sadness in know he is gone. We take comfort in knowing he is with the Lord. May he rest in peace. Sandy P.

Thank you for your kindness, thank you for loving life and giving us all a piece of your heart. You were put here on earth to make a difference in other lives and I can tell you that you made a difference in mine. I learned to be a softer-gentler person just by being around you. I picture Jack with his gentle smile and good nature at Great Adventures with a bunch of high school teenagers. It was Senior class trip time and Jack did not want to go on one of the rides with us teachers. But he bunched up his courage and came along, just like the trooper he was. I never met a. More kinder, gentler man in my seventy years of living. Jack worked closely with me when I was an assistant principal at Freeport High School. He deserve his rest. I loved that man! Jim B

Jack was a true gentleman. Kind, gentle and highly respected. I would see him from time to time walking to the cafeteria in school. He always had a smile and a word of encouragement.. It was a pleasure having him as a coworker. Brenda L.
