Obituary of Gerda LeBrun

Gerda (Buitenhuis) LeBrun died on January 20, 2015 at RWJ University Hospital – New Brunswick. She was 89 years old. Born in The Hague, Netherlands, she came to the US in 1950, and settled in Monroe Township where she resided her entire life. Upon coming to the US she began farming at the Hoffman Farm on Rt. 522 in Monroe Twp. along with her late husband, Theodorus. She was Administrator and Owner and Operator of Woodhaven Rest Home in Monroe Twp. for 40 years until her retirement in 2008. She was a past president of Monroe Twp. PTA and a former Girl Scout leader. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Central Monroe Volunteer Fire Company. She always took pride in caring for people and especially enjoyed the time spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Theodorus LeBrun (2008), her son-in-law John Yeskevich (2012) and her daughter-in-law Sharon LeBrun (2014).
She is survived by seven children: Annette MacFarlane and her husband, Michael of East Windsor, Patricia LeBrun and her husband, Robert Horner of Monroe Twp., Denise Pellino and her husband, Carmen of Jamesburg, Theodore LeBrun of Jamesburg, Raymond LeBrun and his wife, Denise of Monroe Twp., Robert LeBrun and his wife, Margaret 'Peggy' of Monroe Twp. and Gerda Yeskevich of Jamesburg. She is also survived by a brother Case VanWeelie of Old Bridge, a sister Willy LeBrun of Canton, OH, and eight grandchildren; Courtney, Raymond, Jr., Damion, Justin, Robert A. and his wife Ashley, Kevin, Jenna, and Robbie.
Visitation will be from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Friday January 23, 2015 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 – 732-521-0555. A funeral service will be at 10am on Saturday January 24, 2015 at the funeral home followed by interment in Brainerd Cemetery – Cranbury.
