Obituary of Michael M. Flatley

Michael M. Flatley died suddenly on July 14, 2014. He was 32 years old. Born in Trenton, NJ, he lived in Hamilton for 25 years before moving to Old Bridge. He received both his BA and then in 2014, his MA in counseling from Rider University. He served his internship in student counseling at South Brunswick HS. Mike appeared in several reality TV shows on both MTV and Bravo cable channels. Although his time with his loving family and friends was short, he fulfilled his life-long ambition of helping others by becoming a counselor and touched many lives. Surviving are his parents, Michael A. and Kathryn (Wetzel) Flatley of Old Bridge, his sister, Tara Ehmann and her husband, Robert of Old Bridge, his favorite niece, Alexandra Ehmann and many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and extended family and friends on both the East and West coasts. To keep Mike's legacy alive and to honor his dream of becoming a counselor, memorial contributions may be made to the South Brunswick HS Student Personnel Services Dep't, 750 Ridge Rd., Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852 for the establishment of a scholarship in his name to be awarded to students who choose to become counselors. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00am at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ Interment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
