Joseph A. Zebrowski – Old Bridge, NJ
Joseph A. Zebrowski, 89, died on Friday November 29, 2013 at St Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Joseph was born and raised in Newark, NJ; he was married to the late Irene D. Zebrowski in October 1948.
Joseph moved to Old Bridge in 1956 and was employed as a millwright for Sherwin Williams in Newark for over 40 years, retiring in 1986. He was also employed by St Thomas the Apostle RC Church as a
maintenance worker.
Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was involved in 5 theatres of battle, was a recipient of the double Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and was directly involved in the Battle of the Bulge. Joseph a member of the VFW Post # 133 and a member of the Order of the Purple Heart and former Chaplin. Joseph was also an active parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church.
Joseph is preceded in death by his wife Irene D. (2001). He is survived by his three sons: Allen of San Francisco, Thomas of Monroe Twp., and Robert of Old Bridge, two grandchildren: Tiffany of Asbury Park and Brett of Monroe Twp. Also surviving are extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Joseph's name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
