Brian John vonBischoffshausen returned to the arms of the Lord on February 11, 2013, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ with his family by his side. Brian passed away as a result of a massive heart attack.
Brian was born on Sept. 13, 1957 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. In 1966, the family moved to North Brunswick, where he remained a lifelong resident. He is predeceased by his parents, Richard and Eleanor (Grimsland) vonBischoffshausen; brothers Richard, Thomas and James; a sister Susan Enright and brother in law Andy Bengyel.
He was manager of Finger's Radiator, North Brunswick, N.J. where he started working at the age of 17 after graduating from North Brunswick Township High School.
Brian was a gentle giant, bigger than life and the family's "Big Kahuna." He was loved by everyone who had the honor of knowing him. Brian was the guy who got the party started. He was a diehard Giants and Yankee fan and an avid golfer. His favorite down time was to vacation at his cottage in Duck, NC every year with his entire family.
Brian was a father who loved his girls more than anything. He never missed any of the games they were involved in, always giving his opinion on the wrong calls made by the umps and referees, sometimes to the point of being asked to leave.
Brian is survived by his wife and best friend of 34 years Joanne (Balcerski); his daughters Jill (Daniel) Cenzano of Bedminster and their new little angel, Amelia Danielle, who made him a proud loving Poppy; Joelle vonBischoffshausen of New Paltz, NY; sisters Gail (Patrick) Gallico and Lynne vonBischoffshausen; brother Jeffrey; his loving nieces and nephews Michael Winkler, Michael Enright, Jessie, Laraine, Sue, James, Travis, Jackson, Bryan, Carolina and Robbie and his brothers and sister-in-love Walter Balcerski, Robert and Ann Louise Winkler. He will be greatly missed by his workout family at NY Sports Club, by his golfing buddies, Pat, Michael, Frank, Mark and Tony and his two furry companions Woody and Winnie.
Visitation will be Wednesday February 13th from 4-8pm at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home – 205 Rhode Hall Rd. – Monroe Twp., NJ. Funeral Services will begin on Wednesday evening at 7:30pm. Cremation is private. Please visit www.demarcofuneralhome.com for further information.
