Maria: You were a beautiful woman, inside and out. You made my brother, John, happier than I have ever seen him. For that I thank you. I'm saddened that you only had each other for a few short years, you deserved so much more time together. While we all miss you here, I'm so glad you are finally out of pain. Until we meet again, my sister, my friend.
Love, Jeanne

My entire life is in a different place because of your tender and loving guidance. Even now I see and feel your presents everywhere. I know you are where you want to be. Your indescribable pain and suffering is gone. You asked me to let you go, I had to say ok, be with your mother Millie whom you loved so dearly. I know you desperately wanted to be with our Lord and savior and no doubt he received you with open arms. I am over joyed that your pain and suffering has ceased replaced by the splendor and joy of our Kingdom in Heaven. I now pray God allows you to once again touch my heart and let me know you will be there to greet me when I pass with those gorgeous big brown expressive eyes and that absolutely infectious smile, your soft tender hands that I love to hold so much extending out reaching for me to guide me as you have always guided me into the Kingdom of Heaven. This is not goodbye but till we meet again in the glory of the Kingdom of heaven to live forever in his grace.

When you first move to New Jersey, you said it was "too quiet." You missed the trains.
Throughout the years Maria, you brought friendship, joy and laughter to me and my family - your smile, your laughter and your NY state of mind will forever be in our memories and in our hearts.
Charles, Adam and Melissa, you know more than any of us that your mother was a special person. Her passing is like a ship sailing over the horizon. Though we can no longer see her, she is - and will always be - there for you. May you find peace and strength as you cherish her memory.
RIP Maria.

My memories of Maria go back to when we were in high school in Richmond Hill, NY. I always thought Maria was beautiful. Years passed and we went our ways, Maria to NJ and I went to LI. Life is a circle. In 2001, I moved to Kendall Park and began a new job at Cambridge School. As I was exiting the classroom, Maria was entering. She stops me and said, "I know you, but not from around here." We rekindled our relationship. I would see and speak to Maria in the lunchroom. She loved the kids. She often spoke of her children with pride. You knew she loved them. Then came facebook. Unfortunately, that's when I found out about Maria's illness. I called her and we spoke. Now, I can hear the love and support she found in her husband, John. Sharing the memories of the growing family that meant everything to her. I so wanted to visit with Maria, but was told now is not the time. Well, Maria I will hold onto those memories. The suffering is over and may you rest in peace.

I met Maria 6 years ago when I first started working at Cambridge School. We clicked right away as she was a New Yorker like I am and a Christian believer. We always chatted as I would get my lunch or when we would run to each other at work. Thank you Maria for helping me to feel at home at Cambridge since it was the first time I had left my hometown to live in another state. Talking and sharing with you made me feel like a little of home was with me in my new home in New Jersey.

Maria reached out to me in a Queens, NY "neighborhood" group on Facebook. We share the same belief in Jesus, our Savior, and although I never met her face-to-face, I was blessed to connect with her here briefly over the internet, but I know we'll share the joy and magnificence of heaven. My condolences to all her family and friends. Today Maria knows better than anyone that the best is yet to come! God's blessing and comfort to all, Virginia

Maria I think of all the times I saw you at the hospital this year. You looked so uncomfortable and you kept asking and thanking us for prayers. You were always a light even in the darkest times. I met Maria when I was 15 years old. She was my brother's girlfriend at the time, and she became my big sister for over 30 years. She taught me how to put on makeup. She was the first over protective mom I'd ever really known, that is until I took it up a level when I became a mom. She set an example for me and I know that I followed that as a mother. She made me an aunt and a godmother. I promised her I would always look out for her daughter, my niece Melissa, and Melissa has a mom and a home here in Florida whenever she needs it. I know Maria would never have left her family voluntarily, but I also know she is with her mother, father and aunts now, and not in any pain for the first time in a long time. She will watch and guide her children, grandchildren, family and friends from Heaven.
