To the Walsh Family,
I was so sorry to hear of Joan's passing. We worked together for 20 years at Applegarth Middle School and she was a pleasure to know... always there to lend a helping hand with a smile or a friendly word. Very sorry that I was not able to attend the wake or funeral Mass. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I'm sure she's singing in that Heavenly Choir by now. Best,
Maggie Maziarz

To Joan's family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Joan was a wonderful person in my life and was instrumental in my marrying my second husband. She said, "Be patient and you will find someone." The day came when I met a man. When we were going to a huge kite festival she suggested a gift of a sweatshirt with a kite spray painted by one of her sons. The shirt was a huge hit, and it wasn't long after that an engagment ring popped out of my boyfriends pocket. Joan always took credit for the suggestion of her gift, the beauty of the sweatshirt and all her support for the proposal.
I couldn't wait to show her the ring. She nearly cried with joy! It made me feel so special knowing how much she cared. What can I say? She was a great woman with a heart of gold. I adored her.
