Obituary of Leo Fischer

Leo Fischer died on Tuesday March 27, 2012 at the University Medical Center at Princeton. He was 83 years old. Mr. Fischer was born in Jersey City. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany. He met his wife in Germany, and together they returned to the US and settled in Carteret where they lived for 44 years finally moving to Rossmoor, Monroe Twp. in 2001. He was a chemical operator for Exxon Mobil in Linden for over 20 years before his retirement in 1987. He enjoyed bowling, traveling, and especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was kind to everyone he met.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, Michael and Anela (Potpinka) Fischer, and 9 siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lieselotte H. (Wagner) Fischer of Rossmoor, Monroe Twp., two daughters, Diana Merrick and her husband Joseph of Monroe Twp., and Doris Fischer and her domestic partner Vicki Richards of East Windsor, one sister, Eileen Adams of Carteret, one sister-in-law, Florence Fischer of Bayonne, four grandchildren, Jamison, Kathryn, Timothy, and Hunter, and many other extended family members.
A private cremation took place under the direction of the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555.
A memorial service will be 11:00am on Thursday March 29, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church 79 One Mile Rd. East Windsor, NJ 08520 followed by Entombment of his cremated remains in the Church Memorial Garden.
