Joseph 'Joey' M. Magnolo, 90, passed away peacefully at his home Friday, January 6, surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, Joe was a resident of Hamilton Square for many years before moving to Monroe Twp. Joe served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Steelhead (SS-280) and is a submarine veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Predeceased by his first wife, Grace, his son, Danny, and his grandson, Patrick, Joe is survived by his wife, Lucy Terribile; his children, Patty Ann Gentles and husband Chip of Hamilton Square; Cathy Magnolo of East Windsor; Linda Staggs and husband Rusty of Hamilton Square; Dominic J. Magnolo and wife Theresa of Robbinsville; Luana Del Vecchio of Maui, Hawaii, and Pam Zitani of Hightstown; his grandchildren, Ian, Cole, and Ryan Gentles; Kyle and Meredith Gibson; Andrea and Alexandra Magnolo; Leah and Sarah Staggs; Laura and Lonna Zitani; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin at 9:45 AM on Tuesday, January 10, 2010, from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc., 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ, 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will be 10:30 AM at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, Hightstown, followed by Interment in Holy Cross Burial Park, So. Brunswick.
