Obituary of Gail L. Molter

Gail Molter, 86, of Monroe Township, NJ passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023 after a long illness with family by her side.  

Gail was born on September 21, 1937 to William and Louise Kammer in Yonkers, New York.  The family later moved to Yorktown Heights, NY where she graduated from Yorktown High School.  She went on to earn her RN in nursing at the Westchester School of Nursing Grasslands Hospital in 1958.  She also earned a bachelors in Psychology at St. Thomas Aquinas College in 1985.

Gail married in 1956, and continued to train and work in the nursing field until she had her 2 children, Robin and Bryan and the family settled in New City, NY.  Later, after a divorce, Gail returned to work in nursing.

Gail had a long relationship with a non-profit organization named Jawonio, a non-profit organization that provides a full range of life services to individuals and families with special needs.  She started volunteering there in the 1960’s and even served on their Board of Directors before eventually becoming an employee. She worked for Jawonio in both nursing and human resources for over 30 years until her retirement.  Her relationship with Jawonio spanned over 50 years.

In her free time, Gail enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, photography, going on trips, and her beloved boxers who provided so much companionship for her over the years.  In 2020, Gail moved to Monroe Township, NJ to join a senior community and to be closer to family.

Gail is predeceased by her father and mother, William and Louise Kammer, her beloved sister, Dawn Thackeray, and her beloved daughter, Robin Taronji Olsen.  She is survived by her son, Bryan Molter and his wife, Helene of Dayton, NJ as well as her grandchildren, Arren and Jonathan Molter, Jenna Olsen, and Brandon Taronji, Brandon’s wife, JR and their daughter, Alexia.

There will be a wake at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd, Monroe Township, NJ 08831 on Sunday, October 15th from 12pm-4pm.  Additional viewing and the funeral service will be on Monday, October 16 from 9:00am-10:30am.  A grave-side service and burial will be held Monday, October 16th at Ferncliff Cemetery, 280 Secor Road, Hartsdale, NY at approximately 1:00pm.
