Obituary of Roger Steven Wilson, Sr.

Roger Steven Wilson, Sr. "Big Rog", 58, passed away on Sunday August 27, 2023 at his residence in New Egypt.  Roger was born in New Brunswick and raised in Jamesburg.  He resided in New Egypt for 26 years.  Roger was an operating engineer for Local 825 for 26 years.  Big Rog was the strongest man we knew and the most loving father, husband, brother, brother in law, son in law, father in law, uncle, cousin, son and friend.  He was brave and generous and had a heart of gold.  Big Rog put up a strong fight for eighteen months against AML and battled until the very end.  We will miss him dearly every day and will continue moving forward in his memory.  

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Rose Wilson, his father in law, Dennis Conneway and his brother in law Michael Conneway.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Kellie Wilson of New Egypt, his son, Roger S. Wilson, Jr. and his fiancee Colleen Lestician of Hamilton, his daughter, Maddie Wilson of New Egypt,  five brothers: Earl Wilson of Philadelphia, Gene Wilson and his wife Cheryl of New Egypt, Rick Wilson and his wife Anne of Pedro, OH, Eddie Wilson and his wife Patti of New Albany, PA and Stephen Wilson and his wife Jennifer of Jamesburg, his mother in law, Rosemary Conneway of New Egypt, his sister in law Colleen Stryker and her husband Michael of New Egypt and his brother in law Dennis Conneway of Franklin, WV.  Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be 4-8 PM on Wednesday August 30, 2023 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831 - 732-521-0555.  A catholic blessing will be at 7:30 PM.
