Obituary of James L McDonnell

James L. McDonnell, 90, of Monroe Twp. passed away on Sunday August 27, 2023 at Hackensack Meridian Health Old Bridge Medical Center in Old Bridge.  James born and raised in New York City where he lived for most of his life before moving to Clearbrook, Monroe Twp. in 2018.  James was an accountant for American Express in New York for 31 years until his retirement in 1995.  He was a hospital volunteer for 20 years after retirement and was an avid baseball fan.  

James was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores McDonnell (1993) and three siblings: Alice, John and Robert.

He is survived by three children: Louise Intindoli and her husband Matthew of Monroe Twp., Daniel McDonnell and his wife Joanne of Staten Island and Sandra O'Brien and her husband Dan of Orange City, FL, seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.  

Visitation will be 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM on Wednesday August 30, 2023 and 8:45-9:15 AM on Thursday August 31, 2023 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831 - 732-521-0555.  Funeral services will begin at 9:15 AM on Thursday from the funeral home.  A funeral liturgy will be 10 AM at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church - 156 Maxwell Ave., Hightstown, NJ  08520 followed by interment in Moravian Cemetery - 2205 Richmond Rd., Staten Island, NY  10306.
