Obituary of Catherine G. Heely

Catherine G. Heely, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on August 24, 2023, in Monroe Township, NJ, at the age of 79. Born on September 6, 1943, in Jamaica, Queens, New York, Catherine was the daughter of the late Angelina Filloramo and Vincent SantaMaria.

Catherine was known for her kind and selfless nature. She had a great sense of humor that made her a joy to be around, and she easily made friends wherever she went. As a caring mother, loving wife, and doting grandmother, Catherine touched the lives of many with her unwavering love and loyalty.

Catherine received an education degree from St. John's University and began her career as a grade school teacher at Michael F. Stokes School in Levittown, NY.  She later worked for Catholic Charities, dedicating herself to helping those in need. 

Catherine found solace and strength in her faith. She worshipped at Church of the Precious Blood in Monmouth Beach, NJ, and later at Nativity of our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Monroe Township, NJ.

In her free time, Catherine enjoyed lunch outings and day trips to shows with her friends. She was an avid participant in Zumba exercise classes and spent her winters in sunny Key Largo, FL. Catherine cherished traveling with her family, creating lasting memories together.

A memorial service to celebrate Catherine's life will be held at DeMarco Funeral Home in Jamesburg, NJ, on August 30th from 8:30-10:30 am, followed by a funeral mass at Nativity of our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Monroe Township, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Stroke Association in memory of Catherine G. Heely.

Catherine will be deeply missed by her son Christopher Reilly, her stepson James Heely V and his wife Laura Heely, and their children James Heely VI, William Heely, Michael Heely, and Kimberly Heely, as well as her extended family and friends.
