Dear Peter in Heaven with Our Lord,
Today is April 8 , 2024
I am missing you so much as you are missing a Solar Eclipse. You also missed the birth of Gson Andrew’s son Wyatt on January 5, 2024 and the baby girl due in early June to David Jr and Rachel
US is experiencing a Rare Solar Eclipse. Mexico and Dallas were total. We here in Waretown, NJ did not go total. NYC went very dark as did upstate NY and Maine. Your brother Arthur and YOU would have been so involved in viewing it with telescopes but perhaps you have a BETTER VIEW FROM HEAVEN!
Today I am ordering 6 Tribute Books for our family which include the emotional and heartwarming written remarks of so many telling all how they are missing you and related to you as their Dad, family member ir friend.
The hospital still hasn’t written to me and it’s 45 business days as to why Dr Riaz nor any other physician responded to your 5 straight hours of screaming my name in pain on Thursday August 17, 2023.
I was told I WOULD get an answer by 30 to 45 days.
So sorry for your agonizing experience, I will never get over you calling my name over and over.
I say the prayer you marked “upon my death” and signed PPG every morning and night along with the prayer you said to St Jude every day.
I pray that we are reunited soon in heaven as we were united in married life here on earth for sixty-seven(67) years.
I miss your kisses and hugs so here are mine to you!

Dear Mom,
As I sit here, late on the evening of October 2, 2023, several weeks after Dad's passing, I miss him dearly. As much as I miss Dad, I cherish the fact that you are still with us, and I hope you remain strong and healthy to be with us for many years to come.
At Dad's wake on the evening of August 25, 2023, I shared a small slice of my memories of Dad, and I share them again below. I hope my words give you comfort, and perhaps a laugh or two....
Thank you, Mom, Guys, and all of you for you being here with us to celebrate Dad’s well lived life.
I want you all to know that my beautiful sisters, Valerie and Rhonda, stand-up here in spirit with my brothers and I, as we share our memories of Dad.
We all recall Dad’s love of music. Anyone who saw him dance knew he had rhythm. He didn’t read music, but he could belt out a few tunes on the piano, and he could even tickle a few songs from a squeeze box. But make no mistake, Dad’s best instrument was his desk.
Many of you know that I play the drums, a few beats on a simple DW Drum set, a hi-hat, a set of crash cymbals and a ride cymbal. However, Dad’s desk was an extravagant drum set of sorts.
Like every great drummer, from jazz great Tony DeNicola, whom Mom & Dad went out of their way so many years ago to drive me to lessons at Tony’s Lawrenceville studio.…to jazz great Buddy Rich… to Stewart Copland of the Police… to Neil Peart of Rush, or Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters and Nirvana..…like all of them, DAD WAS A ROCKSTAR. The only difference is that Dad’s instrument was his mind at work at his desk.
From the time I was a skinny, carrot-top kid (sorry folks, my red hair is long gone, LOL)… Dad at his desk was a sight to behold.
• From the beautiful neatly organized gigantic wooden desk, credenza, wooden cabinets and beautiful black leather chairs and sofa at his old office right here on Forsgate Drive…and later
• At his office at Half Acre (as we all refer to it)…
• To his office at Seaside…
• To his office at Mom and Dad’s retirement home in Waretown…Dad at his desk was always a sight to behold.
The guys and I were recently reminiscing about Dad’s masterful use of a calculator…with his right-hand Dad could play a tune on his calculator, no different than Rockstars on their drum sets. On his calculator, Dad could quickly, and accurately add pages and pages of numbers without missing a beat. Dad had rhythm in EVERYTHING he endeavored to do. But it wasn’t just a calculator, it was Dad’s entire office that was his instrument, from which he made music.
Of course, Dad’s beautiful desk had all the customary accoutrement, chief among them were finely sharpened pencils, green ledger sheets, a computer, neatly organized files – and of course - that beautiful, well-tuned calculator.
When we were kids, you didn’t dare sit at Dad’s desk, and heaven help you if you moved anything…MAN-O-MAN there was hell to pay. LOL.
As an Auditor, I am eternally grateful that he bestowed his trust in me and my accounting skills to take care of Mom’s finances going forward.
Dad, you were the best Father, you were the most intelligent, the wittiest, by far the most captivating and without question the most generous man I will ever know.
Dad, if you’re listening, know this, on your beautiful desk and on my desk too, I’ll leave the calculator on, along with a finely sharpened pencil and ledger paper just in case you visit. Your presence and spirit will always be with me.
Eternally grateful, love always,
Your Son Arthur Louis Garibaldi

The following prayer was read during viewing services on 8/25/23 for my father Peter P. Garibaldi ...
Good evening to everyone,
As my father’s life was filled with many personal, professional, and political achievements – it would take me numerous days, if not weeks, to tell you just how much my dad truly means to me – BUT as the “hands of time” continue on - I would instead like to share with you this prayer.
(Blessing)
In the name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit … amen.
Lord - today is filled with sadness - for the loss of my dad, as well as comfort, knowing that his suffering was brief.
It is very difficult to say farewell to my dear and precious father, who has been such an amazing “patriarch” to our entire family – thru out the years.
Thank you for giving me my dad, and for all that he has meant to me - throughout my life.
As I think back over all the things that he taught me and for the many lessons of life that I have learned from him, it rejoices my heart, and yet Lord, I know that I am going to miss him - so very much.
Lord, I ask that that you remain close to all of our family and friends today.
I know that we are all going to mourn his passing, in different ways, and I pray that you will draw close to each of us and provide the comfort and strength - that we all need - as we finally come to terms with the fact that my dad will no longer be physically here with us, but he will remain in our hearts and thoughts forever.
We thank you again - that he knew the Lord Jesus as his Savior (thru his diligent and numerous prayers that he said - every evening - for our family and friends) and we rejoice to know that he is now in the presence of our Savior – whom he loved so very much … as well as returning to be with his mother (Patrina) father (Pietro), brothers (Philip, Daniel, Louis, Arthur, and Frank), sister (Victoria), daughters (Laura and Rhonda), great grand-daughter (Lucille) and many other close family and friends – all together in heaven.
(Blessing)
In the name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit … amen.
One other note that I would like to share is that - although my father has passed, but he is still with us here in spirit – it should be known that my mother and father would be celebrating their 67th wedding anniversary today – Fri August 25th … and I would like to “tip my glass” to celebrate their beautiful, wonderful journey together thru the years.
Love you mom and dad.

Info below is a prayer that I read to my father (with my mother present as well) on Tues 8/1/23 while my dad was in Jersey Shore Medical Center … and my mother and father were very appreciative that I shared my thoughts of love with them!!!
Father Lord, I thank you for the gift of the life of my father -Peter Paul Garibaldi.
I thank you for giving me a dad who has truly been the best. I thank you because up to this day, he has taken good care of his family. I thank you for watching over him thru sickness and health - and you have been faithful in fulfilling your will upon his life. Thank you for your providence and protection.
You have been with my Dad from the time you formed him in his mother’s womb up to this time and I want to say my family and I appreciate all of your love. Thank you Lord.
Lord, my dad has been a good provider. He has showered his family with love and care. I felt his love for my entire life and I am thankful. I know that he is a strong man and by your grace - we pray that he will pull through this illness. I thank you Lord for everything that you have provided my Dad - throughout his life- so that he was able to take care of his family’s needs.
Lord I do not take for granted your good deeds towards my Dad’s life - and ours as well - so thank you.
Lord I also want to thank you for all the people who have been and still are present in his life. For all those that have been with him through thick and thin.
I want to thank you dear Lord most especially for his wife, my mom - Lynne- who has always been beside him and taken care of him.
Please grant my family - that we may continue to stick by each other thru this challenging time.
I know Lord that I may not be able to mention each and every deed my father has done for me, but I am grateful for everything.
Thank you Jesus, praise you Jesus.
In Jesus name I pray.
Amen.

Our meeting was FATE. Our friendship, our correspondence during your service to our country during The Korean War, our marriage, our children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren have forged such a wonderful family legacy going forward.
But supporting all of the above was our love for one another.
Peter’s planning led us through retirement years of fun and travel and his good humor elevated us both.
Thank You My Love - Peter Paul Garibaldi from Your Loving Wife

I was privileged to be his oldest son and to carry his name into the future. In his final weeks, days and hours, Dad was surrounded by his large loving family.
Dad was a truly extraordinary man. A man I spoke to 2-3 times a week for decades. He took great pride in having served the people with integrity and honesty .... a true rarity in politics today.
I will forever miss his deep empathy, his genius math skills, his political sharpness, his passion for life and his love of family.
His life story will enable all who read it to understand what it means to be an extraordinary man.

We first met Senator Garibaldi at our Nicoles and Anthony engagement party. We talking old school politics and then out of nowhere he bolted to the deck dance floor. Portugal The Man's song "Feel It Still" came on. He found his lovely wife and was breakin moves. At the wedding all of us were requesting that song be played and just as before off he went. We are very sorry for your loss. Our prayers are with you all.
