Obituary of Jan Stofan
Jan Stofan, 51, of Englishtown passed away on Monday July 17, 2023. Jan was born and raised in Michalovce, Slovak Republic and came to the US in October 1997, settling in Elizabeth. He lived in Parlin and Helmetta and moved to Englishtown in 2015. He owned his own painting business, JS Painting. Jan loved all sports, including soccer and hockey but his passion was running, biking and swimming. He ran many marathons and triathlons, most notably, the New York, Boston and Chicago marathons. Jan also loved going on camping trips with his friends.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Renata Stofan and his son, Nicolas Stofan of Englishtown, his parents, Jan and Anna Stofan, his brother, Slavomir Stofan, his sister, Jana Svrcekova and her husband Blazej and their daughter Kristina, all of Michalovce, Slovak Republic. Also surviving are many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be 6:00 - 9:00 PM on Friday July 28, 2023 and 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Saturday July 29, 2023 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 - 732-521-0555 - www.demarcofuneralhome.com. A catholic blessing will be 11:00 AM on Saturday. Cremation is private.
