Obituary of Tony Miranda

Anthony N. Miranda, Sr. passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, June 19, 2023 at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel.  He was 90 years old.  Tony was born and raised in Procida, Italy where he was a Merchant Marine, leading him to travel the world.  He came to the US and settled in Brooklyn, NY where he met and married his late wife, Lucy.  He later lived in Old Bridge for many years before moving to Concordia, Monroe Twp. in 2021.  He began his career as a chef before working for the Long Island Railroad.  He loved cooking, playing the lottery, and gardening, but most of all he loved his family.

He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Lucy (Filippo) Miranda, his parents, Pasquale and Evelina (Tramatica) Miranda, and ten siblings.

He is survived by his three children, Evelyn Bellaro of Concordia, Monroe Twp., Patricia Knight and her husband Joseph of Concordia, Monroe Twp., and Anthony N. Miranda, Jr. and his wife Gina of Caldwell, two siblings, John Miranda, and Ginetta Cascone, 6 grandchildren, Matthew Knight and his wife Stephanie, Christopher Bellaro and his girlfriend Debbie Kelly, Veronica Knight-Fiuza and her husband Gabriel Fiuza, Thomas Bellaro and his fiance Alexis Gomez, Jonathan Miranda, and Joshua Miranda, and one great-granddaughter, Madison Knight.

Visitation will be from 3-6pm on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555.  A Catholic Blessing will begin at the conclusion of the visiting hours at 6pm at the funeral home.  Cremation is private.
