Obituary of Theresa Lonczak

Theresa (Abbruzzese) Lonczak, 94, passed away on Sunday June 4, 2023 at Sunrise of Lincroft.  Theresa was born in South Plainfield and resided in South River and Monroe Twp. before moving to Lincroft in 2018.  Theresa raised her family as a homemaker and was also employed by J.A.C.E. Catering for the South River School System for over 20 years.  She was a member of the Rosary Society at Sunrise of Lincroft.  

Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Leon P. Lonczak (1973), her daughter, Janet Lee Gizicki (2003), and her son, Leon Lonczak (2020), four brothers: Anthony, John, Alfred and Robert Abbruzzese and one sister, Janet Nehila.  

She is survived by her son, John Lonczak and his wife Barbara of Newburgh, NY, her daughter-in-law, Lori Lonczak of Fair Haven, and her son-in-law, Thomas Gizicki and his wife Ellen Bromley of Stamford, CT, seven grandchildren: Adrienne Gizicki, Alexander Gizicki and his wife Maren, Will Lonczak, Ted Lonczak and his wife Missy, Jenna Lonczak, Kip Lonczak and Kate Lonczak and two great grandchildren: Nia and Ayah.     

Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm on Thursday June 15, 2023 and 8:30-9:15 am on Friday June 16, 2023 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831.  Funeral services will begin at 9:15 am on Friday from the funeral home.  A funeral liturgy will be 10:00 am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church - 185 Applegarth Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831 followed by interment in St. Mary's Cemetery - East Brunswick.
