Charles “Charlie” Manfre, 66, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at his residence in East Brunswick, NJ. Charlie was born in New Brunswick, NJ, and he resided in North Brunswick, NJ for most of his life before moving to East Brunswick, NJ twenty years ago. He was a graduate of New Brunswick High School, class of 1974, and was employed by Abbott Labs in Edison NJ, retiring in 2009. 
 

Charlie loved old movies and classic television shows. The Godfather was his favorite movie, and Hogan’s Heroes was his favorite TV show. He couldn’t be bothered with Netflix or Prime, but he enjoyed his DVD collection and even some old VHS tapes.

He loved to cook and talk about food and often said that he never forgot a good meal.

His happy place was his summer retreat in Wildwood, NJ, where he and his wife loved spending many fun times there. He always cherished the wonderful memories he created over the years with his Wildwood family and friends. He and his wife also enjoyed going on cruises, especially to Bermuda, their favorite vacation destination where Charlie always said he felt "at home."

Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Charles N. Manfre and Grace (Telleri) Manfre, and by his sister, Shirley Miller.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of nearly twenty years, Joanne (Morrongiello) Manfre of East Brunswick, NJ, his two daughters, Angela Manfre of Kyle, TX, Laura Manfre-Siminoff of NJ, his sister, Rosalie Hamlin of North Brunswick, NJ, his brothers-in-law, Paul L. Miller of Milltown, NJ, Anthony Morrongiello and his wife Abbe of South Kingstown, RI, Matthew Morrongiello and his wife Debra of Hamilton, NJ, his sisters-in-law, Carol Angersbach and her husband Charles of McGaheysville, VA, Christine Reilley and her husband Kevin of South River, NJ, his niece, Christine Rushfield and her husband Ivan of Milltown, NJ, his nephew, Paul C. Miller of Milltown, NJ, several great nieces, great nephews, extended family members, and friends. 

Visitation will be 3:00–7:00 pm on Sunday, April 16, 2023, and 9:30-10:30 am on Monday, April 17, 2023, at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc., 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831.  A Catholic Blessing will be offered at 10:30 am on Monday at the funeral home.  Following the service will be a Committal Service and Entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.
