Please share a memory of Confesor to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Confesor Velazquez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, coach, and friend, passed away on April 1, 2023, at the age of 73. Born on August 14, 1949, in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, to Carmen Luz Rosa Velazquez and Jacinto Velazquez, Confesor was one of four siblings. He is predeceased by his parents and brothers, Victor J. and Victor M. Velazquez. He is survived by his youngest brother, Edwin.

Confesor was determined to create a better life for himself and his loved ones from a young age. He worked hard in school and was accepted to Arts High in Newark, NJ, where he studied art and painting before graduation in 1968. He continued his education at Essex County College before entering the workforce.

Over the years, he worked in various industries, including a machine shop and a food distributor, before plotting with his brother to move to California and enter the leather industry in Los Angeles. He worked tirelessly to advance his career and provide for his family. Confesor later moved to Kentucky, continuing his work in Tennessee before settling in Maine. He retired at 63 years old from his career as one of the few remaining leather industry Color Technologists in the United States.

Confesor was passionate about sports and spent years coaching his kids in California in baseball and bowling. He played on various teams throughout his life, including the Newark Eagles in New Jersey and the Golden Oldies in Maine. He was an excellent bowler; his claim to fame was a near-perfect bowling score of 290. After leaving California, he picked up and excelled at golf and enjoyed this game with many friends and family members. In addition to sports, he loved playing Scrabble with his family, telling jokes, and making others laugh.

Throughout his life, Confesor always put family first. He was a devoted husband to his wife Blanca, with whom he shared over five decades of love and commitment. He was a loving father to his three children, Brenda Milton (Craig), Confesor Velazquez Jr., and Juan Carlos Velazquez (Becky Powell). He was always there to guide and encourage them as they pursued their goals.

Confesor cherished his role as a grandfather and loved spending time with Danie, Drew, Dominique, Brett, and Miguel. He enjoyed this time with them playing games, telling stories, and sharing life experiences.

Overall, Confesor was a shining example of kindness, generosity, and empathy. He often went out of his way to offer a helping hand, a kind word, or a listening ear. Confesor will be remembered for his honesty, fairness, playful, humorous demeanor, and unwavering dedication to his family.
