Obituary of Marie A. Eppinger

Marie Eppinger passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Monroe Village, Monroe Twp.  She was 93 years old.  A native of South River and a long-time resident of Monroe Twp.  Marie graduated from Seton Hall University, earned her MBA from New York University, and her doctorate from Boston University.  She did post-doctoral studies in Gestalt Therapy in Cleveland, OH and Chemical Addictions in Milwaukee, WI.  Her professional experiences included teaching in New Jersey and West Virginia.  She was an addictions therapist in New Hampshire and worked administration in various institutions including St. Joseph Village for Dependent Children in Rockleigh, Boston College School of Nursing in Chestnut Hill, MA, Mountain Wood Treatment Center in Charlottesville, VA, Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace Generalate in Spring Lake, and Provincialate in Englewood Cliffs.

Marie's zest for travel and education took her to all 7 continents.  Her family and friends loved to hear the stories of her adventures but cherished the time when she was close by even more.  We will treasure our memories of a wonderful woman who brought joy, curiosity and love to all who knew her.  

She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Katherine (Hranowski) Eppinger, four brothers, Raymond, Edwin, George, and Arthur, and one sister, Dorothy Ippolito.

Surviving are one brother, James and his wife Constance of Monroe Twp., and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and other extended family members.

A memorial mass will be 11:00am on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, 185 Applegarth Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831.  Inurnment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
