Obituary of Antonio B. Mendoza

Antonio B. Mendoza passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, with his family by his side, at his home in the Encore Community, Monroe Twp.  He was 84 years old.  Tony 'Boy' was born and raised in Cavite, Philippines.  He came to the US in 1977 and settled in Virginia Beach, VA.  In 1988, and upon marriage, he moved to Queens, NY.  He has resided in the Encore Community since 2015.  He began his career as an aircraft mechanic in the Philippines.  While living in Virginia, he was a first-class machinist for Newport News Shipbuilder and Norfolk Shipyards.  He then worked in the same capacity for Cadell Dry Dock in Staten Island, NY for 22 years before his retirement in 2010.  He loved making models of military ships and aircraft and also was an avid model sportscar collector.  He was a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, and six siblings.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Connie (Lipat) Mendoza of Encore, Monroe Twp., six siblings, Gloria, Purita, Soledad, Marian, Junior, and Nestor, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Visitation will be from 2-6pm on Sunday, February 19, 2023 and from 9:45am to 10:15am on Monday, February 20, 2023 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831.  Funeral services will begin at 10:15am on Monday from the funeral home.  A funeral liturgy will be 11:00am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, 185 Applegarth Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831.  A private cremation will follow the Mass.
