Obituary of Albert R. Linke

Albert Robert Linke, Jr. passed away surrounded by his family and loved ones on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at his home in Jamesburg.  He was a life-long Jamesburg resident.  He joined the Jamesburg Volunteer Fire Department in 1960 as a member and went on to serve five terms as Chief, one term as President, and three terms as Fire Commissioner.  He was a mechanic and truck driver for Phillips/Harrison Concrete Co. in New Brunswick.  He retired in 2002.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, Albert R., Sr. and Myrtle (Yetman) Linke, four sisters, Dorothy, Alberta, Shirley, and Audrey, and one brother, Amel.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret (McGantlin) Linke of Jamesburg, two sons, Albert R. Linke, III and his wife Nancy of Jamesburg, Anthony R. Linke of Englishtown, four grandchildren, Amanda Linke, Alyssa Linke, Albert R. Linke, IV, 'AJ,' and Angela Linke, five great-grandchildren, Aiden, Elijah, Savannah, Makenzie, and Paisley, and many other extended family members and dear friends including officers and members, past and present, from the Jamesburg Volunteer Fire Department.

Family and friends may call from the hours of 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday, February 18, 2023 and from 9:00am to 10:00am on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at the Jamesburg Volunteer Fire Department Firehouse, 82 West Railroad Ave. Jamesburg, NJ 08831. Funeral services, including final call, will begin at 10:00am on Sunday at the firehouse.  Cremation will follow the services and will be private.
