Obituary of Mildred R. Hettinger

Mildred R. (Mueller) Hettinger passed away peacefully on January 21 at her home in Toms River.  She was 89 years old.  Mildred was born and raised in Newark.  She then resided in South River for 44 years before moving to Toms River in 2003.  She worked for the former Franklin State Bank in Somerset. After her retirement, she volunteered her time reading to children in the East Brunswick and Toms River school districts.  Millie loved bowling, bingo, line and tap dancing, the beach, penny slots and every activity her grandchildren were involved in. Most of all, Millie enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Robert, in 2001. Her five siblings, Florence Kubrak, Evelyn Brown, Elbert Mueller, Nicholas Mueller, and Ruth Hahneman.

She is survived by her three children, Doreen Drik and her husband Stuart of Plumsted Twp., Robert Hettinger and his wife Laura of Helmetta, and Susan Boll and her husband Ricky of Jackson. Two sisters, Myrtle Grinis of Devon, PA, and Marion Weimer of North Arlington. Her sister-in-law Marlene Mueller of Toms River. Six grandchildren; Robert Hettinger (Jessica), Breanna Boll (Kyle), Amanda Hettinger (Jon), Rachel DiStefano (Tyler), Brooke Boll (Drew), and Ricky Boll. Four great-grandchildren, Holly, Dennis, Robert, and Colton. Along with many other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555.  A funeral liturgy will be 10:00 am on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at St. James the Less RC Church, 36 Lincoln Ave. Jamesburg, NJ 08831 followed by interment in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick Twp.
