Obituary of Christine Smeltzer
Christine Smeltzer, 70, passed away on January 9, 2023. Born in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania on February 27, 1952, she was multitalented and multifaceted. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Pittsburgh before eventually settling in Bordentown, New Jersey. Christine served as the Township Administrator of Cranbury, New Jersey for a total of thirteen years. Spanning an additional seven years, she served as Township Administrator of Hopewell, New Jersey, and Exton, Pennsylvania.
Christine had diverse interests throughout her life, and approached her days with a great sense of curiosity and openness. Her passions included being a practitioner of Yoga and Tai Chi for over two decades, talented artist, astrologer, seamstress, prolific knitter, baker, gardener, and appreciator of music and art. She was a loving and generous mother, and brought much joy and brightness to her role as a grandmother.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jean and John Sack. She is survived by her older brother, Tom Sack, and his wife, Jan Sack; her older sister, Barbara Sack; and her younger brother, Peter Sack and his wife, Pam Sack. She will be greatly missed by her partner, Frank Andrews; her oldest daughter, Megan Quinlan; her youngest daughter, Heather Whisner, and her husband, Andrew Smith; and her five grandchildren, Ethen, Liana, Io, Connor, and Aidan.
