Obituary of Mary J. Yurko

Mary J. Yurko, 89, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022. Mary was born in Plymouth Township, PA., during 1933, she resided in New Brunswick, NJ for most of her life before moving to Rossmoor, Monroe Township, NJ.  Mary was a graduate of New Brunswick High School, Class of 1951 and a graduate of Washington School for Secretaries in Newark, NJ.  She was employed by Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick, NJ and retired on August 1, 1993, after forty-two years of service.  She was a member of the Johnson and Johnson world headquarters Twenty-Five Year Club. She was also a member of the Rossmoor women's nine-hole golf league and the Tamarack women's nine-hole golf league.   During her life, she cared for her mother, Susie Yurko, and was also a great comfort to her older sister, Gertrude.

Mary is preceded in death by her three sisters, Margaret Hudak, Lillian Tamosaitis, Gertrude Holmes, her brother Ernest Yurko and niece, Bonnie Yurko.

Mary is survived by her nephews, Robert Tamosaitis, Walter Tamosaitis, her nieces, Pamela Lewis, Deborah Gatlin.  Also surviving are many great nieces and nephews, and extended family members. 

 

Cremation is private and under the direction of the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home Inc.

 

A memorial mass wil be celebrated at 10:00am on Wednesday November 2, 2022 at Nativity or Our Lord RC Church, 185 Applegarth Road, Monroe Township, NJ.  Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, 500 Somerset St, New Brunswick, NJ 08901
