Obituary of Anthony Salvatore Catalano

Born on August 19, 1925 in Brooklyn NY to Theresa Noto and Baldessare Catalano who emigrated to the United States as children from Sicily Italy in the early 1900s.  He attended Machine and Metal Trade Vocational High School. Upon graduation in January 1944, he was immediately drafted into the US Army where he proudly served his country until May 1946. Upon entry back into civilian life Anthony worked in a factory as a leather crafter of fine Italian shoes for 15 years.  He then began working for the US Postal Service where he served in many different positions, eventually retiring as a postal supervisor in 1990.

Anthony is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Laura DiPaola, his son Anthony and wife Karen, daughter Theresa, former son in law Gregory Christou, granddaughter Eleni Marie Christou and many nieces and nephews.    

Visitation will be 8:00 am - 9:15 am on Friday September 30, 2022 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831 - 732-521-0555.  Funeral services will begin at 9:15 am from the funeral home.  A funeral liturgy will be 10:00 am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church - 185 Applegarth Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831 followed by interment in St. Charles Cemetery - 2015 Wellwood Ave., Farmingdale, NY  11735.
