Frank Spennato, 84, passed away on August 27, 2022, in St. Peters Hospital, New Brunswick surrounded by his wife and children.

Frank was born in Ischia, Italy on September 30, 1937, to Luigi and Cristina Spennato. He lived in Ischia until he was 10 years old at which time he emigrated to the United States and settled in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, NY. While living in Brooklyn he met his wife of 61 years, Joan Elisa Bracciale. Together they had three children and eventually moved to Monroe Township, NJ in 1971.

As a teenager in Brooklyn Frank loved playing baseball with his club team the Sabres.  Frank went on to serve as a Corporal in the New York National Guard from 1959 until 1965 in a field artillery unit.  In 1963 he became employed by the New York City Transit Authority as a supervisor in the Signal Department. His career with the NYCTA spanned 30 years until his retirement in 1993.

Frank enjoyed vacationing with his wife and friends and had many hobbies, among them was bowling, chess, golf, gardening, carpentry, and wood carving as well as regular visits to the library and the dollar store.  He was an overall very creative person and always had a story to tell about some part of his wonderful life. Above all he loved his family, he was a caring and loving husband, father, and grandfather - ‘Pop’!

Frank is predeceased by his parents; Luigi and Cristina Spennato as well as his sister, Lucy Como, and brother, Joseph Spennato.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Spennato, and his three children and their spouses; Frank L. and Marco Spennato of Las Vegas, NV, Steven and Linda Spennato of Forked River, NJ and Cristine and George Cier of Allentown, NJ.
