Obituary of Kathy Lewandowski
Kathleen (Kathy) V. Lewandowski passed away on August 21, 2022, in New Brunswick, she was 86 years old.
Kathy was born in Brooklyn New York to Michael and Mary Ellen Lavelle. She remained in Brooklyn most of her life. She met and married her late husband of 52 years, Mr. Jack Lewandowski (2010). They raised their four children and then moved to Monroe Township in 1998.
Kathy was a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church where she could be found dutifully attending mass every Sunday. Kathy was an avid reader and enjoyed reading books at the beach in her younger years. Kathy was a grandmother and she truly loved it. She adored her grandchildren and made them a center of her adult life often being a “Baby Hog” when the chance presented itself.
Kathy had a strong prayer life much to the benefit of anyone that needed some praying for them. She had a sharp mind and never forgot who she was praying for or why.
Kathy is pre-deceased by her parents; Michael and Mary Ellen Lavelle, and her husband Jack Lewandowski as well as five brothers; John Lavelle, Tom Lavelle, Frank Lavelle, Richard Lavelle, and Walter Lavelle. She is also pre-deceased by two of her sisters, Marion Gannon, and Helen Nilsen.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Jack (Beth) Lewandowski of Staten Island, NY,
Joan (Bill) Martin of Fulton, NY, Maryellen (Paul) VanBuskirk of Old Bridge, and Kate (Steve) Stefek of Old Bridge.
Kathy also leaves behind her sister, Ann Reilly of Staten Island, NY
She will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Brian, Kyle (Lauren), Bridget, Erin, Danny, Shaun, Jimmy, Amy, Meghan, Kerri, and Ryan.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 25, 2022, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and then again from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the M. David DeMarco Funeral home, Inc., 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Twp., NJ 08831.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, August 26, 2022, at 10:30 am located at Nativity of Our Lord Church, 185 Applegarth Road, Monroe Twp., NJ 08831.
Burial will immediately follow the funeral liturgy at Holy Cross Burial Park, 840 Cranbury Road, South Brunswick, NJ.
