Obituary of Anibal Muniz

Anibal Muniz, 85, passed away at his home in Monroe Township Friday, August 19, 2022.

Anibal was born in Rincon Puerto Rico to Monserrate and Andrea Muniz. He lived in Puerto Rico until moving to New York at the age of seventeen. He met his wife Hilda (Caro) and they were married in 1955.

Together they lived in the Hollis section of Queens New York until moving to Plainview Long Island where he lived raising his family until moving to East Brunswick and then Monroe Township.

Anibal worked in the hospitality industry for Sky Chef Services as a Chef/Waiter/Bartender for 45 years at J.F.K. Airport (Idlewild Airport). Then opening up his own Pizzeria until he retired in 1994.

Anibal loved boating and especially fishing, a passion he shared with his family after retirement. He loved gardening, and also made a hobby of raising pigeons for many years. He was a skilled Dominoes player who taught all of his grandchildren the game.

He is predeceased by his parents Monserrate and Andrea Muniz as well as his sister, Julie Muniz.

He is survived by his dear wife, Hilda (Caro) Muniz as well as his sons, Arnie and his wife Cindy of Monroe Township, and Henry and his wife Silvia of Smithtown, NY.

He is also survived by brothers; Roy Muniz of Puerto Rico, Frank Muniz also of Puerto Rico, and his sister Shelly Muniz of Queens, NY.

He will be missed by his grandchildren; Tatianna, Alexander, Corey, Jason, and Kristina

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 beginning at 10:30 am – 12:30 pm at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home Inc., 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe Township, NJ 08831. A Catholic service will be held at 12:00 pm also at the funeral home.

Burial will be immediately following the service at Holy Cross Burial Park, 840 Cranbury Road, South Brunswick.
