Obituary of Theresa Farrugia

Mrs. Theresa (Valletta) Farrugia passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia.  She was 78 years old.  Theresa was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.  Upon marriage to her late husband, Eric, they moved to Monroe, NY where they lived for many years raising their family.  They later settled in Staten Island, NY, where they owned and operated an Auntie Anne's franchise.  After retirement, they resided at The Ponds, Monroe Twp. where she has lived since 2010.  Prior to running the franchise, she had a 20-year career in administration for AT&T in Parsippany.  Theresa was a sports enthusiast and had a love of horse racing, bowling, and tennis.  She also had many other hobbies including swimming and boating.  Theresa especially enjoyed many special times over the years with her family at her second home in Ocean City, MD.

She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Eric Farrugia.

She is survived by her three daughters, Lisa Newell and her husband Tom of NYC, NY, Karen Stone and her husband Greg of Hackettstown, and Joanne Goldbetter of Marlboro, her sister, Joanne Entler and her husband Tom of Hollidaysburg, PA, her brother, Michael Valletta and his wife Candy of Staten Island, NY, three grandchildren, Alison, Brianna, and Kristen, three four-legged friends, Hobbs, Gidget, and Frenchie, and many other extended family members.

Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Monday, July 25, 2022 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831.  A funeral liturgy will be 10:00am on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, 185 Applegarth Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831.  Entombment will follow the mass in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick Twp.
