Obituary of Carl C. Sicignano

Carl C. Sicignano, 93, of Monroe Township died on Friday, July 1, 2022, while living at home.  Carl was born in Brooklyn, NY. He resided in Brooklyn and Toms River before moving to Monroe Township in 2014.  Carl was proud of serving on the NYPD for over 20 years. After retirement he worked as a Special Investigator for New York State DMV. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus as well as a member of the NYPD Holy Name Society and Columbian Association. He was also an active member the NYPD Jersey Shore 10-13 Club.  While living in Tom’s River Carl was active in the Holiday City Community and served on the Ways and Means Committee.

Carl was preceded in death by his wife Theresa (Caldararo), his parents Carmine and Frances (Casano) as well as a brother Joseph.

He is survived by his four children: JoAnn Sicignano-Howard and her husband James Brennan of Old Bridge, Joseph L. Sicignano and his wife Lourdes of White Plains, NY,  Theresa A. Sicignano and her husband Robert Mistretta of Old Bridge, and Carl M. Sicignano and his wife Rose of Old Bridge, six grandchildren: Joseph Howard, Janice Howard-Battaglia, Cristen Pennello, Justin Bottega, Dominic Mistretta and Daniel Sicignano and seven great grandchildren: Joseph Battaglia, Jackson Battaglia, Gabriella Battaglia, Jayden Battaglia, Joseph Howard V, Sofia Pennello and Anthony Pennello, Jr.

Visitation will be 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Tuesday July 5, 2022 and 8:30-9:15 am on Wednesday July 6, 2022 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831.  Funeral services will begin at 9:15 am on Wednesday from the funeral home.  A funeral liturgy will be 10 am at St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church - 333 NJ-18, Old Bridge, NJ  08857 followed by interment in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
