Obituary of Marie Rose Mulvaney
Marie Rose Mulvaney, age 94, of Monroe Twp, NJ, passed away suddenly on May 30, 2022, at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick.
Marie was born in Nutley, NJ, to Josephine Pignataro and Salvatore (Sam) Zammataro, on May 19, 1928. She attended Glen Ridge High School and worked for Bell Telephone until she married and moved to New Brunswick. Marie was a homemaker with four children and began waitressing in local restaurants. She later worked for Webcraft from which she retired.
Marie enjoyed bowling, bocce, playing cards with her friends at Rossmoor and spending time with her extended family. She was an avid Mets fan, often detailing players’ stats to those discussing baseball with her. Her theme song was, “My Way,” sung by her favorite performer, Frank Sinatra.
Marie was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Hofstrom (Glen) of Williamsport, PA and by her brother, Joseph Zammataro of Bloomfield, NJ.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Besecker (Jeff) of Vero Beach, FL, and Cheryl Davis (Dan) of Monroe Twp, NJ, and by her son Alan (Kim) of Leland, NC, her sister, Sarah Walsh of Whippany, NJ, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be 10:30am – 11:30am on Saturday June 4, 2022 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. – 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831. A memorial service will be 11:30am following the gathering.
