Obituary of Grace Giamportone

Grace (DiCandido) Giamportone passed into eternal peace on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Stein Assisted Living Residence on the Wilf Campus for Senior Living in Somerset.   She was 89 years old.  Mrs. Giamportone was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.  She lived there most of her life until moving to The Ponds, Monroe Twp. in 1997.  She was employed at Chase Bank in Brooklyn, NY for 30 years until her retirement.  She was a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp.  She was a member of the Italian American Club and the Red Hat Club of The Ponds.

She was predeceased by her husband Anthony in 2016.

She is survived by two daughters, Debra Nichols and her husband Larry of Fallbrook, CA, and Luann Barry and her husband Robert of Edison, one brother, Joseph DiCandido and his wife Eloise of Newtown, CT, two granddaughters, Alyssa Barry, and Erica Barry, and many other extended family members.

Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 and from 8:45am to 9:15am on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc., 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555.  Funeral services will begin at 9:15am on Wednesday from the funeral home.  A funeral liturgy will be 10:00am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, 185 Applegarth Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 followed by Entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick Twp.
