Obituary of Mary Leonardis

Mary (Marie) Leonardis of Monroe, NJ passed away peacefully at home, where she gained her angel wings on 05/10/2022. She was 86 yrs. old. Mary was born and raised in Astoria, Queens, to James and Ann Scuderi. She moved to Brooklyn and married Joseph Leonardis, together they had (4) children. They later moved to Kendall Park, NJ to raise their family. She was known in the neighborhood for her delicious Italian cooking.  Mary was a devoted and loving mother who dedicated her life to her family. Mary enjoyed dancing and spending time with her dear friends. She was known for her quick-wit, elegant style and the brightness she always brought to family and friends. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Mary is survived by her (4) children: Annmarie Szapucki and her husband Matthew of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Phyllis Van Hook of Montgomery, NJ; Nicholas Leonardis and his wife Marie of Montgomery, NJ; Christine Leonardis of Williamstown, NJ; as well as her (10) grandchildren; Gina, Nicholas,Thomas, Alexandra, James, Jennifer, Joseph, Juliana, Anthony & Victoria and (1) great granddaughter, Kyleigh.

Visitation will be from 10:00am-12:30pm on Saturday May 14, 2022 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc., 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp.,  NJ  08831.  A catholic blessing will be 12:30pm followed by Entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, Jamesburg, NJ.
