Obituary of Elizabeth Cavanaugh

Elizabeth (Gudinas) Cavanaugh, 97, passed away on Sunday April 10, 2022 with her family by her side.  She was born in Scranton, PA and moved to Spotswood in 1957 before moving to Monroe Twp. in 2001.  Elizabeth enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her dog, Lila.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Cavanaugh, her parents, Simon and Rose Gudinas, siblings: Joseph Gudinas, Simon Gudinas, William Gudinas, Michael Gudinas, Edward Gudinas, Frances Demas, Ann Ross and Margaret Misiewicz, her son in law, Robert Toye, Sr. and her great grandson, Joseph Daniel Schaffter.  

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Toye, two sons: Daniel Cavanaugh and his wife Nancy and Paul Cavanaugh and his wife JoAnn, her sister, Helen Pocius, her sister in law, Theresa Cavanaugh, eight grandchildren: Robert Jr. and Erin Toye, Patricia and Daniel Lennan, Kristen and Robert Schaffter, Brian and Kinga Cavanaugh, Kelly and Joseph Palombit, Kerry and Vincent DeCarlo, Megan Cavanaugh and Nicole Cavanaugh, fourteen great grandchildren: Connor, Cailin, Robert, Shawn, Cavan, Trey, Ryan, Dylan, Alex, Ella, Leah, Christopher, Miles and Alexandra along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5-8pm on Tuesday April 12, 2022 and 9-9:45 am on Wednesday April 13, 2022 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831.  Funeral services will begin at 9:45am on Wednesday from the funeral home.  A funeral liturgy will be 10:30am at Immaculate Conception RC Church - 23 Manalapan Rd., Spotswood, NJ  08884 followed by interment in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
